Why use O'Pure 2B filters in addition to carbon filters?

Filters that use activated carbon to reduce arsenic begin to lose their efficiency quite quickly. This is also the case for Black Berkey® elements, which lose their effectiveness in eliminating arsenic, fluorine and heavy metals probably well before their estimated lifespan of 11,300 liters.

This is why a more sustainable solution for the reduction of arsenic, fluorine and heavy metals has been developed through the creation of interchangeable Berkey® PF-2™ reduction elements. The media contained in a pair of Berkey® PF-2™ elements can reliably remove these contaminants up to 3800 liters, although less than the 11,300 liter lifespan of the Black Berkey®. For this reason, they were designed to be replaceable. This allows solution users to reliably remove arsenic, fluoride and heavy metals from their water, while taking full advantage of the 11,300 liter lifespan of their Black Berkey® filters.
How do I prime and install my Weeplow O'Pure 2B filters?

Before using the filters, it is imperative to prime your filters. Indeed, microdust may be present in the O'Pure 2B water filter due to manufacturing processes, and this can cause a bitter taste. To dislodge this dust from the O'Pure 2B water filters, it is necessary to prime each element. To do this, follow the steps below.

Activation steps:

Peel off the sticker and wash the filter
Place the purge button provided on the filter and press it against the faucet
Pour cold water through the filter for a few minutes
Repeat the operation on the other side of the filter
Perform steps 1 through 4 again on the second filter

Installation steps:

Place the upper chamber of your gravity system upside down
Screw the filters onto the threads of the carbon filters
Replace the upper chamber of the gravity system onto the lower chamber

If after filtration your water appears cloudy, repeat the filter activation process above or run several filtration cycles of approximately 8 liters.

J'ai acheté ces filtres pour ma bonbonne weeplow. Or, ils ne sont pas adaptés ! Ils ne vont certainement que sur le gros modèle. Pas sur le mien intermédiaire. Ils sont plus larges que ma bonbonne.
